My Supplement Routine

If you have followed me for long, you know I am absolutely obsessed with my supplements.   I take quite a few and love them all!  I often get questions asking which ones I take, how often I take them, and what time of day I take them.  I decided to put it all in this informative blog post so it is easy to share my routine.

Let me preface this to say, this is MY personal routine.  These are the supplements that truly helped me in my health journey.  I am not a medical professional, but I love to share what has worked for me!  If you have health issues or any questions if you should take a certain product, please consult with your own personal physician.  That being said, many women in my fitness group have seen amazing results with these products as well.

My supplements are the first thing I put in my body every day!   I do not drink coffee or have breakfast beforehand. No, it does not make me nauseous taking them all on an empty stomach.   If you do get nauseous, you can just take them with your breakfast!  The reason I take them first is mainly so I don’t forget later in the day.  Also, I like the good stuff being the first thing to hit my system in the morning.

My “green” drink is always a source of many questions.   Haha!  The green drink consists of my YU Greens, Armra Colostrum, and Nature’s Sunshine Chlorophyll.   The YU Greens have a very mild pineapple flavor.  Honestly it is hard to tell that it is pineapple unless you already know it because the flavor is so mild.  Very few of us get the proper amount of greens in our diets daily, so this supplement ensures that we get all the benefits as if we did!  The Colostrum I get is unflavored, although they do have flavored options as well.  Colostrum strengthens your immune barrier.   Finally the Chlorophyll packets come in several options now.  The Lime Twist one is my favorite, followed by the new Crisp Apple flavor.  Chlorophyll is a natural daily detox for your body.   It keeps everything running smoothly!  I combine all three in my green drink.  It takes on the taste of the Chlorophyll, which I think is really delicious!  I mix these three in 4-6 oz of water.  I drink it down like a quick shot!

Next, I take my YU Probiotic.  One reason I really love this probiotic is because it is also a prebiotic as well!   It is two for one!  The Protect Probiotic comes in a little sachet and is so simple.  You just rip it open and dump it on your tongue, like a Pixie Stick!   It tastes just like candy!  So yum!  It is safe for kids 4 years old and up to take!  My kids all take it every single morning.   Everyone should be on a daily probiotic in my opinion.  I recommend grabbing YU products in a discounted bundle to save yourself some money.  My code can even be stacked on top for additional savings!

The collagen I take is Daily You Marine Liquid Collagen from Younique.  It is a liquid collagen and comes in individual sachets!  I have researched MANY liquid marine collagens, and this one by far has more collagen per unit and better ingredients overall!  Our bodies slow down producing collagen in our mid 20s, so it is definitely a supplement needed by most!  It helps with hair growth (I can really tell in my lashes!), improves skin texture, relieves joint pain, and so much more.  It comes in a box of 30.  I would get the subscription for this product.  You get 10% off plus free shipping when you do that!

My YU Trim Fit drink is one I highly recommend.  This product has really helped me this past year in kicking my cravings and boosting my energy!  The instructions will tell you to add a scoop of Trim Fit to a 8-12 oz glass of water and drink over time.  You can do it that way for sure.   However, I actually take it two different ways now.  I put a scoop of Trim Fit in about 4-6 oz of water along with creatine.  I take that as a shot before I walk or workout every morning!  Then I add another scoop to water in my large 40 oz Brumate tumbler!  I sip on that over a few hours.   (When I first started, I did one scoop in the tumbler twice a day.  One day I decided to chug it before a workout, and I loved the burst of energy it gave me! So now I do it both ways.)  You can try different ways to take your Trim Fit and see what works best for you!  If you are sensitive to caffeine, I would recommend starting with ½ of a scoop.  Many have had great results with even just half a scoop!

Creatine is a supplement that came highly recommended, but I wanted to do my research before adding it.   I was really surprised with how much information is out there about Creatine.  It has been a valuable addition to my routine.  I definitely think it gives me a pump when working out and helps with muscle definition!  I take only half the recommended dose because of concerns about bloating.  I am pleased with my results with only a half dose so I will probably keep that up for now.  One thing I would note is to be sure you are drinking PLENTY of water when you take a creatine supplement.  You can dehydrate easily if not!

Finally, let me share about how I wind down at night when my brain does not want to turn off.  I have been drinking a Turmeric latte on the nights I need it.   Turmeric naturally promotes the feeling of calm and well being; along with helping combat inflammation, supporting your immune system, and aiding with digestion.  I mix a scoop of the YU Turmeric mix with non-dairy milk and a splash of stevia.  You will get the best night of sleep ever when you drink this spicy latte right before bed.

Once again I want to state, if you have any concerns on whether or not you should take a certain supplement, please reach out to your own personal physician! I am just a regular person sharing what has really helped me achieve my personal health goals. By sharing my journey, I am hoping to inspire others to take control of their own health and do what is best for them! Be sure you are following me on FB and IG. I share daily in stories about the supplements I am taking!
