Turks & Caicos Family Vacation

As part of the kids’ Christmas gift this past year, we decided to do a family vacation in January to Turks and Caicos.   Justin and I were so excited to take the kids on their first out-of-the-country adventure!  We booked our trip easily through the Beaches Resort website.  https://www.beaches.com/resorts/turks-caicos/

The resort was truly beautiful!   I highly recommend going in January.  It was the perfect time in my opinion.  The weather was gorgeous and as a bonus it broke up the cold winter back in Ohio.  Honestly we were very lucky and missed out on the coldest week of the year last winter.

The actual travel time to get there was not bad at all.  However, customs was absolutely insane.  We waited in line for over two hours with tired, hungry children.  That was not fun at all!  If you can afford to grab a global entry pass, I would 100% recommend you do that!  With that pass, you can cut the line and walk right in.

Beaches Turks and Caicos is an amazing resort if you have kids.  Although if we didn’t have the kids with us, Justin and I would not go back just ourselves.  The food was not that great.  (All inclusive resorts tend to be that way in my opinion.)  We would prefer to go elsewhere if it was just Justin and I.  This resort had a TON for kids to do.  So that made it perfect for a family vacation.  There was a waterpark, Xbox shed, snorkeling right off the beach, tubing, multiple pools to choose from daily.  Truly it had anything a kid could want to do!

We stayed at the resort the majority of the time, but one day we booked a private boat.  This excursion was also booked through the resort.  That turned out to be hands down my favorite day on this vacation!  We were taken to a gorgeous private island that made us feel like the only people in the world.  The water was so clear and incredible.  I highly recommend a private boat day if you can!

For a fun little adventure, we decided to take a taxi and go off the resort one day.  It was a pretty cool experience.  It was nice to see what all was outside of the resort!  There were a bunch of cute shops in town, and we felt 100% safe the entire time.  If you plan a trip and want to take a day off the resort, make a note to bring plenty of cash.   Everywhere we went in town (except for the taxi) only took cash, so plan accordingly!

Overall, if you are planning a family vacation, definitely check out the Beaches Resort Turks and Caicos.   The kids had a blast!   It was the perfect family vacation spot.  If you are looking for a couples vacation spot, I’d look elsewhere!  ;)
