My Skincare Routine
Several months ago a friend shared a new skincare brand with me that was completely changing her skin. I wasn’t necessarily looking for new skincare, but I was intrigued. I had been loving my previous skincare routine (which was mostly medical grade) but it does get pricey, and I had many asking for alternate options.
Have you ever heard of waterless skincare? I hadn’t either. I have been learning so much the last several months. If you look at the ingredients on your skincare, the first ingredient is most likely water. This means that the product is 70% water. Water typically breeds bacteria. In order to stabilize water in products, you have to add fillers. Therefore, 70% of that product is water and 25% fillers. The remaining 5% is the only active ingredient. While there is nothing wrong with water being in there, it is not benefiting your skin. In the Oliveda skincare line, hydroxytyrosol from the olive tree replaces the water. What is hydroxytyrosol? Good question! I had never heard of it either. This is the bioactive cell elixir of the olive leaf.
This Bioactive Cell Elixir protects the olive tree from the outside and allows it to live a very long time! The hydroxytyrosol is derived from their own olive trees. It visibly helps correct redness, irritation and pigmentation. Your complexion will be absolutely radiant and beautiful! In addition to the water swap out, they also replaced the standard percentage of refined (aka dead oils) in emulsions with the highly active Arbequina oil. This oil is similar to the lipids in our skin and supports its regenerative power.
This skincare is so different from anything I’ve ever used or recommended. I had planned on continuing my medical grade skincare and just using a few of these Oliveda products. However, I have been SO IMPRESSED with each of these products that I have slowly switched over almost completely. The texture of my skin has improved so much, as well as I have such a glow about my skin now. So many of you have even commented on it!
