My YŪ Charge Pre Workout


Want to get the absolute most out of every single walk, push-up, squat, plank, etc?  We all know the benefits of exercise.  Weight management, increased energy, clarity of mind, etc.  You can get more out of each workout with a little boost from a pre workout. I have been avoiding pre workout drinks for a bit because honestly most of them have synthetic caffeine that makes you very jittery and then crash.  If you have taken a pre workout before,  you know what I mean.

Maybe you are curious what the difference is between Synthetic caffeine vs. Natural caffeine.  Let me try to explain for a minute.  Most energy drinks, pre workouts, soda, etc. contain synthetic caffeine.  Synthetic caffeine is man made from chemicals in a lab to be chemically identical to natural caffeine.  It also is produced in a much higher concentration than natural and is absorbed more quickly in the body.   Both of these things can make you feel jittery when it first hits your system and crash hard when it leaves your system.  Other downsides are it often increases your heart rate and blood pressure, leading to migraines and headaches.  

On the flip side, natural caffeine can actually have health benefits vs. being harmful for your health.  Natural caffeine (like from green tea, which is the caffeine in the Charge) can help improve brain function and may reduce the risk of heart disease and some cancers.  Natural caffeine contains L-theanine, which is an amino acid found in green tea, and may also help reduce stress.  It also is absorbed more slowly than synthetic so it will be a steady energy vs. a quick burst then crash.  


Another amazing ingredient that I was thrilled to see in the new Charge Pre Workout is BCAAs! What is BCAA?  It is Branched Chained Amino Acids.  BCAAs have been studied to build muscle, reduce fatigue, help reduce muscle soreness after workouts, and speed up recovery after workouts.  The Charge also has electrolytes, which promote hydration as we know.  The Beta Alanine that is included helps enhance endurance and avoid or delay muscle fatigue.  Finally, the Betaine Anhydrous is shown to improve muscle strength, endurance and delays fatigue so you can train longer.
